Needed: Mentors for Portland Area

The primary function of a mentor is to commit to mentor an adolescent foster youth in maintaining our mission statement and plans of the Heart Gallery Mentor Program. To remain a mentor for at least one year in the effort to build resiliency, life skills and self confidence that will assist the youth while he/she transitions into adulthood / independent living. To create avenues of positive and creative fun through adventures that show a life of excitement without the negative influences.

Salary / Pay Rate:unpaid
Required Skills and Abilities:Support the vision, mission and goals of the Heart Gallery Mentor Program. Attend initial training meeting before being matched. Observe all Heart Gallery Mentor Program policies and procedures. Track monthly volunteer activities and report to the Heart Gallery Mentor Program Director in a timely manner. Qualifications:Have an interest in foster youth age 13-21 that are transitioning into adulthood Willingness to commit to the time needed Complete the application process and orientation
