MLK Day Event - Hosted by "I Have a Dream" Foundation-Oregon

Join host, "I Have a Dream" Foundation-Oregon, for a free event in celebration Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service entitled Race In Portland: Reflecting on the Past, Hope for the Future

WHEN: 7:00-9:00 pm - Monday, January 19th, 2009

WHERE: First Unitarian Church of Portland, 1011 SW 12th Avenue, Downtown Portland

WHAT: Screening of hour-long OPB film "Local Color" about the history of race in Portland. "I Have a Dream" Foundation-Oregon students will read letters written to Martin Luther King Jr. about the historical 2008 election. Local community leaders including, Renee Mitchell, Kate Lore, Gale Castillo, and Bishop HL Hodge will give short speeches, read poems, and share hopes for the future. Refreshments and conversation after program.
