Environmental Educator Seasonal Position

March 18th – June 5th Part-time School Programs

The Audubon Society of Portland is looking for a highly motivated, top-notch Environmental Educator with a solid understanding of the natural history of the Pacific Northwest.  Applicant should enjoy working with children and a dynamic, close-knit team of educators.

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Knowledge of general forest ecology, basic geology, regional birds, mammals and basic botany

·        Three years field experience teaching Environmental Education.

·        Experience teaching grades 3rd-12th.

·        A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or Education (or related field).

·        Willing and able to work week days including multiple overnight programs at Portland Audubon’s Marmot Cabin right outside of Sandy, OR.

Must have knowledge in:

·        General Forest Ecology

·        Basic Geology

·        Regional Birds and Mammals

·        Basic Botany

Position Pay:  $10-12 per hour (depending on experience).

This position is intended to transition into a full-time summer position assuming high quality job performance in the spring.
