Come to our Open House/Open Roda at new Capoeria Angola space 1/24/09

Capoeira Angola is a dance related martial art from Brazil. The Portland Study Group is part of the International Capoeira Angola Foundation. We look forward to sharing and building community around capoeira as a form of expression and liberation. Our event is celebrating our move into a space of our own.

Saturday, January 24th

6 - 7 pm Capoeira Angola workshop- open to beginners and first time students. Taught by Contra Mestre Silvinho from Seattle

7 - 9 pm Open roda. If you have experience, come play (all levels) or please come to watch capoeira in action

9 - 11 pm Dance to the rhythms of Brazil with some of Portland's finest samba and forro percussionists.

All events and libations are by donation. This is a fund raiser to help with move-in costs and bringing teachers from Seattle and Oakland

-concurrent with this event will be classes taught by Treinu Daniel from Oakland- Friday 8 - 10 pm; Saturday TBA and Sunday 2:30 - 4:30 at People's co-op
