History Pub Event

History Pub, January 26, 2009, 7pm

History Pub is a collaborative program sponsored by Holy Names Heritage Center, Oregon Historical Society, and McMenamins that brings Northwest history your way in a lively pub setting. Come learn more about the region’s fascinating past while enjoying great food and beverages. McMenamins historian Tim Hills and PSU professor Darrell Millner will speak on “African-American Achievements in Early-Day Oregon.” The program includes a screening of In Search of York, a film that explores the achievements of the sole African-American member of Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery. History Pub occurs the last Monday of the month at the Kennedy School (5736 NE 33rd Ave). This is a free program; canned food donations will be accepted for the Oregon Food Bank.  For more information, call Karen Kinzey at 503-607-0595.
