Free Parent Leadership Conference on 2/28 at da Vinci Middle School

Everyone who is interested in increasing parent and community involvement in our public schools is invited to participate in this year's Parent Leadership Conference, to be held Saturday, February 28 at da Vinci Middle School. Organized by Community & Parents for Public Schools (CPPS) in cooperation with PPS, the event helps parents, families and community members learn effective strategies for supporting their students, school, and district.

Several workshops will be conducted in Spanish and one in Somali, with translation services available upon request in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese and Mandarin. PPS Superintendent Carole Smith is a keynote speaker, along with a representative from the Mayor's Office. The event is entirely free and includes childcare, a light breakfast, and lunch.

The doors will open at 9:00 AM, and the conference will begin at 9:30 and end at 1:30. Families can register for the conference and learn more about it at www.cppsportland.org. For more information, please contact Debbie Gordon, conference coordinator, at [email protected].
