Walking School Bus / Bike Trains

A Walking School Bus is just like a regular school bus but instead of wheels, we use our feet. It can be as simple as two families taking turns walking their children to school or as structured as a planned route with a schedule of trained volunteers. A bike train is an opportunity for children and a parent to ride to school together.  Training dates:

* Tuesday Feb 10th , 6pm-7:30pm Gregory Heights Library - 7921 NE Sandy Blvd Portland, OR 97213

* Wednesday Feb 25th, 12pm-1:30pm Southeast Precinct Community Room - 4735 E Burnside St Portland, OR 97215

Stop + Walk! A Healthier Child. A Safer School.

The Stop + Walk campaign encourages parents who drop-off or pick-up their children from school in cars to drop-off or pick-up their children 2-4 blocks from school. Students walk the rest of the way with friends, or parents can use the time to walk with their students getting a little exercise themselves. Training dates:

* Friday Jan 30th, 9:30am-11am Peninsula Park Community Center - 700 N. Rose Parks Way Portland OR 97217

* Thursday Feb 5th, 3:30pm-5pm Lewis Elementary School - 4401 SE Evergreen St Portland, OR 97206
