Volunteer with 'The Store that Builds Homes'

The Portland Metro Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a non-profit organization that sells re-useable building materials and supplies. The proceeds go toward building simple, decent and affordable housing for low-income families.

The ReStore is now seeking individuals interested in being a part of our Volunteer Truck Crew for donation pick-up on Fridays from 9-2pm.

The requirements for this volunteer opportunity are:

For Drivers: -You must have a CDL or experience driving large trucks (ours is a 26 ft. box truck, comparable to a large U-Haul.)

-You must have a clean driving record.

For Drivers & Pick-Up Assistants: -You must be able to lift 60+lbs. Experience with moving equipment such as dollies, ratchet straps, pallet jacks, etc is a plus. (If not experienced, be willing to be trained with equipment.)

-You must be able to read printed directions for the Truck Drivers.

ReStore volunteers are expected to be courteous and professional, to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and to be good overall representatives for our organization.
