Scope of Position:

The Workplace Giving Ambassador Organizer is responsible for the management of the Workplace Giving Ambassador Program, Expansion of Workplace Campaigns, and assisting the Development Associate with the current Workplace Giving Campaign.

Ambassador Program Description:

Our Ambassador Program is one that helps to ensure critical funding by helping to create awareness of the Black United Fund within workplace giving campaigns. BUF Ambassadors invite fellow supporters to renew their annual gifts, cultivate prospective contributors and encourage them in supporting BUF.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for prospecting and confirming Ambassadors in all of our Workplace Giving Campaigns. • Meet with and provide Ambassadors with the materials they need to successfully share what BUF is doing and encourage their network to financially support and volunteer for the BUF. • Plan and implement an Ambassador Kick-off. • Create an Ambassador Society that will honor and celebrate Ambassadors. • Plan and implement an Ambassador end of campaign celebration. • Plan and implement an Ambassador gathering during the off-season of the campaign to keep them connected to the BUF. • Prospect and research new workplace giving campaigns to solicit. • Plan and implement a Workplace Giving luncheon to solicit new companies. • Schedule meetings with prospective companies for the Executive Director and Development Associate to solicit prospective companies. • Write follow-up to company solicitation visits. • Assist with the creation of a workplace giving cabinet. • Assist with presentations and tablings during the workplace giving season.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Belief in the Black United Fund of Oregon's mission and a strong interest in working on behalf of low-income residents, community-based organizations, and communities of color. • Proven research and analytical skills. • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. • Proven ability to convene and facilitate group activities. • Experience in program planning and development. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; oral, written and graphic and the ability to work with a diverse public agencies and volunteers. • Excellent management and solid planning skills, attention to detail and an ability to handle multiple tasks at once. • Enthusiasm for the Black United fund of Oregon's mission and values. • Willingness to work hard and to be a team member of a staff of committed and talented individuals working towards social and economic development in low-income communities. • Ability to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team. • Willingness to make a minimum two year commitment to this position and to working with the Black United Fund of Oregon. • Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. • Dependable car, valid driver's license and current auto insurance in compliance with state law.

Salary / Pay Rate:stipend of about $800/month
Qualifications:Education, Experience and Training: • Bachelor's degree of higher in business, communications, marketing, or related field • Minimum of 2+ year's experience in customer service, sales, fundraising, and project management. • Supervisory experience preferred
