All Cyclist Swap Meet and Vendor Show

PUMP's All Cyclist Swap Meet and Vendor Show. Got some great bike stuff to sell?  Or are you looking to find the best deals on bike related merchandise?  From the smallest part, to high-end bikes, come to the largest ALL CYCLIST SWAP MEET and VENDOR SHOW in Portland Metro area.  Buy... Sell...Trade… and learn about bike related services. 

Portland United Mountain Pedalers's PUMP annual swap meet will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat. Nov. 15 at the Friendly House, 1737 NW 26th & Thurman.  $2 entry fee with bonus raffle ticket. $1 raffles every 30 minutes. Table rentals are $15 for half; $25 for full table; $10 for floor space. October is Disabilities Awareness Month! Help us celebrate and raise money for a good cause. Featuring art for and by people with disabilities, the 4th annual Autumn Art Fair will have artwork available for purchase and complimentary refreshments.

When: November 6th, 2008 from 4 – 7 p.m.

Admission is FREE!

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Inclusion Inc.’s flex fund, which assists our customers in time of financial need.

Latino Parent Educator II

Latino Parent Educator II, 20 Hours a week, Non Exempt. Hourly Range: $12.91- $ 15.49 /hr.

Summary: The Latino Parent Educator will promote and support the healthy growth and development of families with children ages birth through five years of age. Responsibilities include program planning, delivery of parent education services in Southwest and North Portland, group facilitation and supervision of child development activities and program development.

Document Translator English to Spanish at the Rebuilding Center

The Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages is currently seeking a Spanish translator intern. We recently opened up our volunteer program to Spanish speakers and have several documents that need to be translated. For our program to be equitable and accessible to these new volunteers, we need to make every resource that is available to our English speaking volunteers, available to our Spanish speaking volunteers as well.

Customer Services Representative

De Paul Treatment Centers serves the greater Portland community by providing drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. We are currently seeking two Customer Services Representatives to manage incoming phone calls for the entire agency.

This position will display our commitment to exemplary customer service with a caring, warm and helpful attitude. Responsibilities include greeting the public on the phone, directing phone calls to appropriate staff, answering questions about our services and scheduling appointments. Additionally, the CSR will comfort callers and reassure them that help is available.

Portland Impact: clothing racks needed

Portland Impact's mission is to alleviate the effects of poverty and to help people achieve and maintain a self-sufficient life. We provide an Emergency Clothing closet where we that supports children, families, adults with disabilities and seniors who are experiencing poverty.

Most of our clothing racks are in bad shape and we are trying to replace them. We are looking for anyone that would be willing to donate them to our closet. Please contact Jill Morrow at 503-988-4996 x265 or [email protected] if you are interested.

Now is a great time to clean out your craft closet for those items you have never used! Portland Impact's Senior Activities Program is looking for craft supplies to be used in their scrapbooking, paper craft, knitting and other classes that are offered.

Ready to Rent Instructor Training...Register TODAY

Winter is coming, so don't let your clients be left out in the cold...teach them to overcome typical rental screening barriers with Ready To Rent! The next Certified Instructor Training will be held December 16-18.

The Ready to Rent curriculum provides housing readiness skills to people who have had past rental difficulties, have participants establish an action plan for becoming a successful renter and, upon completion, receive a Ready to Rent Certificate which is recognized by many housing providers and landlords as a compensating factor to some negative rental history.

Volunteering

Gain experience volunteering and teaching with the Kelly SUN program

SUN stands for Schools Uniting Neighborhoods and we here in the Kelly SUN office are dedicated to Kelly's Students. Our students typically come from an ethnically diverse, low-socio-economic level with 84% of the students receiving free or reduced lunches.

The SUN after school program offers a fun, safe place for students to spend their afternoon hours. Classes run Monday through Thursday, from 3:00-4:30 and 4:30-5:30. If you are interested in sharing your passion for art, music, science, math, literature, the medical field, sport, dance, gardening, the outdoors, craft, etc...teaching or helping out with classes, please email me to set up an interview. Excel Wizard needed at the Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages

The Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages is currently seeking a volunteer to assist in their volunteer tracking system. They have recently created a pilot excel spreadsheet that is in dire need of an “excel wizard” to help in the initial phases of implementation.

The ideal volunteer would have experience in excel formatting, and data entry. The time commitment on this project is very flexible. If you are interested in this position please contact Emily Ordas and she would be happy to give you more details.
