Please join us for a BBQ benefiting Virginia Garcia at the Orenco Station New Seasons on May 30 & 31 from 12-4 pm!

What: A Benefit Barbecue sponsored by New Seasons benefiting Virginia Garcia. Come out for hot dogs, veggie dogs and fresh lemonade. All proceeds go to VG!

Learn about green manufacturing processes and alternatives to common fabric production while enjoying four acts of fashion designed by local students at the Art Institute of Portland. DJ OG ONE will be spinning before and during the show with Starchile as MC while the Portland Urban Dancers will be performing in between the acts. Come and enjoy a night of organic hors d'oeuvres, drink, great music, and of course ... sustainable fashion!

Zoo Brew at the Oregon Zoo - Friday May 29

Zoo Brew at the Oregon Zoo Friday, May 29, 2009 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Proceeds from this amazing fundraising event will support the Zoo's award-winning education programs and provide new veterinary equipment.

$25 for guests 21 and over includes commemorative tasting glass and 10 tastings.

Participate in a survey for volunteer management professionals!

The Northwest Oregon Volunteer Administrators Association (NOVAA) is the local professional organization for administrators in the field of volunteer management. If you are currently involved in the field of volunteer management, NOVAA would like to invite you to participate in their online survey. This survey is used to guide the organization toward improving upon its programs and capture the current environment in the volunteer management community. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes and all participants are entered to win a gift certificate to Powell’s Books. Winners will be notified by email when the surveying period closes.

Joanna Macy workshop July 5-10

Living Earth is hosting a residential workshop July 5-10 with Joanna Macy, one of the most revered and influential ecological activists of our time.  More information and registration are online at www.LivingEarthGatherings.org.   

This is a rare opportunity to spend five days at Still Meadow Retreat Center with an exceptional teacher. Joanna Macy, PhD, is a Buddhist scholar, systems theorist, deep ecologist, and passionate activist for ecological consciousness. A fiery-hearted 80-year-old, she is skillful, brilliant, and warm, and her four+ decades of teaching and activism have taken her to every continent on our beautiful Earth.

Introduction to Permaculture with Toby Hemenway! Sunday, June 7**

TLC Farm is excited to host nationally-renowned permaculture expert, Toby Hemenway, for three one-day workshops this summer. Each class runs from 10 am- 5 pm.
