CNRG Nonprofit Networking Night - Thursday Nov 19th - Holiday Party Dec 10th

Are you a nonprofit or someone who works with them?  A nonprofit looking for affordable consultants or vendors?  A volunteer looking for an organization eager for your time?  A nonprofit staff member wanting to partner on a project?

If so, CNRG's nonprofit networking event is for you. Come meet others who work and volunteer in Portland's nonprofit sector. Swap resources, share ideas, devise solutions and just hang out with community-minded people like yourself at a great community cafe.

Locally owned Airplay Café has created a welcoming environment for music lovers of all ages.   Don't forget to bring a friend and a few bucks to enjoy one of Airplay Café's delightful appetizers or coffee, beer or wine.

Reminder: Free Cuban Panel Discussion & Film - Friday 11/20, 6:30pm

Cuba AyUUda, a nonprofit dedicated to building relationships between Cubans and US Americans, is sponsoring a free community outreach event on Friday, November 20 at 6:30pm.

We will moderate a discussion panel composed of Cuban expats who want to share their experiences following a screening of the Cuban film "Lista de Espera" (The Waiting List). Snacks, coffee, and wine will be available.

For those interested in Cuba, this will be a phenomenal opportunity to get an inside look at the only country our government will not allow its citizens to visit.

Shop Local - Support Arts Education!

Come to the 5th annual da Vinci Arts Fair Saturday, December 5th 10 am - 6 pm & Sunday, December 6th 10 am - 4 pm (No admission fee either day)

Treat yourself, your friends and your family to unique handmade items including jewelry, paintings, clothes, ceramics, prints, metal work, sculpture, photography, cards and more by local artists and da Vinci students.

You'll also find refreshments, hands-on-projects and a raffle for a beautiful Mona Lisa brooch by Christine Clark. (Tickets are just $5 each)

Tuesday, November 24, the Mercy Corps Action Center brings Kennedy School of Government's Robert Rotberg to speak for a noon lecture in the Mercy Corps Community Room. Friends of Trees - Green Space Planting - Sat., 11/21

Plant native trees and shrubs in King City Park this Saturday, November 21st. No experience necessary!

Friends of Trees will provide morning refreshments, gloves, tools, and all necessary guidance. Simply show up by 9:00am and be dressed appropriately for the weather.

The park is located at the southern end of SW Montague Way in King City. (Google Map "SW Montague Way, Tigard, OR 97224") Follow the 'Tree Planters At Work' signs. There is ample parking in the parking lot.

This planting is in partnership with Clean Water Services.

Child Care Providers Needed for Family Strengthening Class for African Refugees and Immigrants

The Family Support Program at Lutheran Community Services NW is seeking child care providers who can care for children ages 0-5 years old during our Family Strengthening classes. We will be offering classes at two different sites in Portland, one will be located in East Portland near 130th, and the site of the second class is still TBD, but will be in North Portland.

We need fun, enthusiastic child care providers who will be available for approximately two hours during the day. Classes will be scheduled on Wednesdays at 11:00am. We will have one session on 130th in December, and then will hold classes every other week starting in January.
