Help us create an audience for emerging young artists and raise funds for LÊP High

The Leadership and Entrepreneurship High School will be transformed into an Art Gallery for one evening, June 6, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. as part of the First Friday Art Walk for the Central Eastside Arts District.

The Leap into Art event will feature a variety of student art for sale including photography, graffiti, jewelry, fused glass, crocheted hats, drawing and painting.

CIRQUE DU CYCLING BIKE PARADE - JUNE 14th - MISSISSIPPI AVE.

Portland has a wealth of totally awesome non-profits doing amazing work in the community and we want to offer you a chance to promote your good efforts in conjunction with our community bike parade at Cirque du Cycling!

Cirque du Cycling, is a Mississippi bike fair in support of Self Enhancement. The parade will feature bike clubs, choppers, tall bikes, the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers, the Sprockettes bicycle dance troupe, and YOUR GROUP!

If you can assemble a unified group of five people WITH BIKES, you can be in the parade!

REQUIREMENTS Teams must register in advance through our website. We are coordinating the placement of teams in advance.

Exhibitors Wanted- Montavilla Community Fair

As a non-profit, you know the importance of getting your name out to the families most likely to visit your organization! The Montavilla Community Fair provides an opportunity for local advertisement & public education to more than 500 people. We mail advertising to 1400 homes before the event, plus provide tabling opportunities to advertise services for families and children and to provide educational materials. Exhibitors might want to have a craft or game for kids to play, a drawing for door prizes, or a prize wheel. Booths may provide information soliciting volunteers for your organization

Foo Fighters Go Green In Portland

Exercising their eco-friendly muscle on tour, the Foo Fighters alt-rock band have come to the aid of Friends of Trees, a local TreeBank member, to help plant trees. As they hit the road this summer on their North American tour, Foo Fighters plan to rock Portland on July 10 at the Rose Garden Arena in support of their new, Grammy-winning album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.

Pharmacy Resource Specialist

Project Access NOW, a regional healthcare non-profit, is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Resource Specialist. This position works with care coordinators, volunteer physicians, volunteer pharmacists, participating pharmacies and other resources to help Project Access patients get the medication they need.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and administrative experience required. Work history in a health care environment, medical terminology, strong computer skills, and bilingual/Spanish preferred.

The position requires ability to work independently, exhibit excellent oral and written skills, handle multiple responsibilities, and create and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people.

Weekend Shelter Monitor

The Annie Ross House is hiring a Weekend Shelter Monitor for Friday evening 8pm through Sunday at noon. This is a temporary 6 month position. The position will begin July 4, 2008. The Annie Ross House, a program of Northwest Housing Alternatives, Inc. provides support and housing to families experiencing homelessness.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Shelter Services Program Director this position is responsible for working with shelter residents to ensure the safety and security of the campus. This includes the Annie Ross House located in Milwaukie, OR and the surrounding transitional housing units.

Ride Connection seeks RideWise Intern

Ride Connection is a private nonprofit providing transportation to older adults and people with disabilities living in the tri-county area. We are seeking an intern to fill our Rider’s Club Coordinator position this summer.

This position supports the RideWise Outreach Specialist with the establishment of Rider’s Clubs, coordination of events, and the development and maintenance of relationships with sites, agencies, and individuals who provide service to older adults and people with disabilities in the Portland Metro area. The Rider’s Club Coordinator Intern must also be able to work independently and manage multiple projects assigned by the RideWise Outreach Specialist.

Portland Impact is hosting its annual Summer Garden Party fundraiser on Saturday, June 28th at the Portland Nursery on SE Division. This year's theme is Portland Impact Luau: A True Community Feast. Event festivities include dinner, Hawaiian-inspired entertainment, live & silent auctions and a program presentation. If you enjoy volunteering at events we need your help!

VOLUNTEER at 10th annual garden tour

Dear friend of natural gardening:

Do you love sharing natural gardening tips with others? If yes, we invite you to become a volunteer for the 10th annual Gardens of Natural Delights tour to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2008!

Volunteers receive: Opportunity to share knowledge and enthusiasm. Private tour of host garden. Beautiful tour T-shirt. Up to four tour tickets. Up to eight service hours for Master Gardeners.

Volunteer Duties include: Spending three hours at the host's garden greeting and educating visitors during tour.

Help everyone ride a bike at Sunday Parkways!

Volunteer to help out at the Bike Shuttle during Sunday Parkways on June 22, when six miles of North Portland neighborhood streets will be closed to traffic from 8am to 2pm. Safer Routes to School – a program that promotes safe walking and biking for elementary school students – will offer free guided bike rides between activity areas, bicycles and helmets included! Volunteers are needed to ride along with hourly shuttle rides and to help fit helmets and bicycles for participants. No special skills required, training provided.

Restoration work party at highest point in Portland- Council Crest Park

Join the West Willamette Restoration Project and the Friends of Marquam Nature Park in preserving Portland's urban forests.

Enjoy your Saturday morning removing invasive plants and meeting people in your community at the highest point in Portland.

Location: Meet at Council Crest Park near the dog park. To look up directions: The nearest cross streets are SW Greenway Ave and SW Council Crest Dr.

Date: Saturday, May 31st, 9am-12pm.

We will provide tools, gloves, a snack and water. All volunteers need to do is dress for the weather and come ready to work!

Wordpress and Google Analytics Specialist - VOLUNTEER

The Community Cycling Center is seeking a creative, community-minded volunteer to help us create and implement a system for our website that allows us to present information more effectively. We hope to maximize online tools and use Google Analytics to better understand the needs of our users/clients/customers. The ideal candidate will have an eye for design, proficiency in Wordpress, Google Analytics, other social networking technologies and an understanding of the special communications needs of nonprofit organizations.

Sunday Parkways - Get the word out about CAR-FREE STREETS

Spread the word about Sunday Parkways

We need 15 volunteers to hang informational fliers about the event on over 2000 homes along the route.

When: Sunday, June 8th

Time: 10am-12:30pm

Where: Unthank Park, near the community center entrance on corner of N Failing St and N Kerby Ave.

What: Walk a short section of the course, distributing informational doorhangers. Bring an Ipod, some sunscreen and a good pair of walking shoes.
