Send Lawyers, Guns and Money: The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon Communities

Gang violence. Terrorism. Housing discrimination. Drug trafficking. Murder. All in a day’s work at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Oregon.

The goal of the U.S. Attorney’s Office is to make communities stronger by making them safer. Its work representing the federal government in criminal and civil law cases doesn’t always involve lawyers, guns and money — but they usually play a role.

On October 29, Dwight Holton, U.S. Attorney for Oregon, will discuss how the U.S. Attorney’s Office impacts Oregon and its residents. Now eight months into his term, Holton will also offer a progress report on what he has learned and accomplished, and how he hopes to shape the role of U.S. Attorney for Oregon.

Want to make a big difference in a short time? Love talking to people? Love appreciating and thanking others?

Our donors take care of people in need all over the world, and it's time to let them know what a huge difference their support makes. Please join Mercy Corps staff and volunteers as we thank as many of our donors as we can this December.

We're looking for a great volunteers to help make thank you calls to recent donors. As a caller, you will be provided with training on making donor calls, including written instructions, and a sample script of what to say. We will also have informative updates daily from field staff. We'll be thanking only, not asking for anything. Calls tend to be quick, positive, and uplifting.
