Is There a Nonprofit in Your Lifeboat?

As the recession continues to impact individuals and families, and budget cuts force government agencies to reduce services, Oregonians increasingly rely on the nonprofit sector for assistance. Oregon’s 15,000 charitable nonprofit organizations deliver health care and education, provide access to the arts, promote justice and drive innovation. Nonprofits employ more than 12 percent of Oregon’s private work force and play a substantial role in local economies throughout the state.
