FT Development/Events Associate sought by The Broadway Rose Theatre Company. Seeking a creative individual with a passion for musical theater and strong people skills to facilitate and manage all special events for the theater (specifically those geared toward donor appreciation and cultivation). This position will also assist in other development tasks including the preparation of corporate sponsorship materials, fundraising solicitation pieces, and tracking donations in the donor database. Applicants should have an extensive knowledge of Word and Excel, and the ability and willingness to learn and master additional programs, specifically Fundraiser Select, Pagemaker, and Powerpoint. FT Development/Events Associate

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

·         Interest in musical theater

·         Experience working or volunteering for a non-profit organization

·         Experience and interest in planning both large and small events

·         Extensive knowledge of Word and Excel, and the ability and willingness to learn and master additional programs such as Fundraiser Select, Pagemaker, Powerpoint and Microsoft Outlook

·         Creative and able to work independently, take direction, and meet deadlines

·         Ability to communicate and establish close relationships with a diverse group of staff and volunteers – including senior citizens and artistic staff

·         Excellent writing and communication skills

·         Ability to lift 25 pounds, walk up and down stairs, and stand for long periods of time

·         Ability to work regular daytime business hours at our offices in Tigard, in addition to evenings and weekends as needed for events

 

Job Duties:

This position reports to the Executive Director.

·         Manage and coordinate events for The Broadway Rose including:

o        Coordinate with Executive Director to set strategies for major events

o        Solicit and manage event sponsorships, auction donations, and in-kind donations

o        Coordinate volunteers, donors, & vendors for all aspects of each event

o        Coordinate and facilitate event planning meetings with volunteers and staff and follow up on committee assignments and responsibilities

o        Follow up and thank volunteers, donors, and vendors after each event

o        Attend, manage and implement all special events and donor appreciation activities including the annual gala, season announcement, donor appreciation events, and numerous others

o        Help design and implement new and creative events where needed

o        Manage and participate in event set-up and clean-up

 

·         Work with the Development Staff on all aspects of annual/capital fundraising including:

o        Help with annual direct mail pieces – coordinate printing and mailing

o        Enter donations and process thank you notes, pledge reminders, and donor data as needed

o        Assist with donor appreciation activities including walk-on roles and donor gifts, as well as working with our Donor Appreciation Committee

o        Help compile corporate packets and prepare other materials for fundraising solicitations as needed

o        Assist Executive Director on other development and organizational task as needed
