Homeless Shelter Seeking Bids for New Website

Request for Proposals

The Goose Hollow Family Shelter, a small homeless shelter for families with children in downtown Portland, is creating a new website to serve as a liaison between its staff and volunteer/donor base and the general community. The shelter has received a grant from Neighbors West Northwest and is eager to build the new website with the help of a local Portland developer.

Currently, the shelter has a website that is run off the server of the church where the shelter is located. This webpage has 5 pages, including one interactive page where volunteers can sign up to volunteer on the website.

We are looking to develop a new website containing the following:

6-8 “static” pages that will include informative content about the shelter and its activities One interactive webpage that will allow volunteers to sign up to volunteer online A content manager so that shelter staff can update the website (this could be custom or integrating something like Joomla) The capacity for receiving online donations from the general public

The website for the Goose Hollow Family Shelter is currently www.fumcpdx.org/goosehollowfamilyshelter. We already have a new domain set up at www.goosehollowfamilyshelter.org. Feel free to take a look at the current webpage to get an idea of what we’re wanting.

The timeline is a bit short, as we want the new website to be up and running by sometime in October.
