position summary:

Serves as organizational leader for planning and implementing fund raising and communications strategies that will continually enhance the organization’s reputation and secure sufficient resources to grow the programs and meet the organization’s mission. Works in partnership with the Executive Director, Development and Communications Department staff, the Management Team, the Vice President of Development, and the Development Committee.

Salary / Pay Rate:$48,000 to $52,000
Required Skills and Abilities:LANGUAGE SKILLS 1. Strong verbal and written communication skills, in English. 2. Ability to speak in an organized, articulate, engaging manner to small and large groups. 3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations, financial reports, legal documents, and budgets. 4. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 5. Ability to effectively present fund raising and program information to general audiences and respond to questions from YWCA staff and board members, as well as public officials, community leaders, and other community members. 6. Ability to respond clearly, respectfully, and diplomatically to inquiries and complaints from members of the community, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. 7. Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. COMPETENCIES, OTHER SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to maintain a positive attitude day to day and to remain positive and constructive during times of stress or tension. 2. Ability to work with junior and senior level staff in an empowering, supportive, and constructive manner. Ability to actively listen and make people feel heard. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 11. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software preferred.
Qualifications:EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 1. B.A. degree. 2. Minimum of three years in nonprofit fund raising or public relations management. 3. Demonstrated track record in effective and empowering supervision. 4. Proven ability to guide the development of well-defined fund raising packages and meet fund raising goals. 5. Participation in event planning and management. 6. Extensive public speaking and meeting facilitation experience.
