Volunteering

Give back in the New Year! Help us spruce up the Beaverton Virginia Garcia clinic!

The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center Beaverton Clinic is looking for some fun-loving hard workers to help with a special carpet cleaning project on January 17.

Carpet cleaning may not initially sound exciting, but combine that with the wonderful opportunity to spend time with other amazing and compassionate volunteers and staff members and a chance to make a real difference in the lives of others, and you have a rewarding and fun experience!

The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center serves more than 34,000 patients each year, many of whom face barriers to accessing healthcare, including language, cultural or socioeconomic barriers. Virginia Garcia provides primary care, dental, vision, mental healthcare, and education programs.

Start Off the New Year by Mentoring a Child

Experience the rewards of making a difference in a child’s life!

Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization’s (IRCO) David Douglas Mentoring Project (DDMP) is seeking energetic volunteer mentors interested in supporting  elementary and middle school students who would benefit from interactions with a caring adult.

DDMP is a one-on-one mentoring program that matches a student from the David Douglas School District with an adult mentor from the community.  Students selected for the program are those with highest needs (low academic performance, behavior issues, language and cultural barriers) and could benefit from having a positive role model.
