Mortgage Default Intake Orientation

The Community Housing Resource Center will be holding a free Mortgage Default Orientation on Thursday, August 12th, from 5-6PM at the Center. This workshop is the required first step in learning how to work with your lender and how the Center can assist you in resolving your mortgage issue. You do not need to be in default to get help. No reservations are required. For information, contact 360-690-4496 X105. The Community Housing Resource Center is a HUD certified, non-profit counseling/education center.

GROWINGGARDENS is hiring an experienced Development Director (DD) to lead GROWINGGARDENS ' enhanced fundraising efforts including major donor, corporate and other value-added funding initiatives.

The DD can expect to work with an enthusiastic executive director and an active board of directors willing and able to work collaboratively to build relationships and raise funds.

Established in 2006, this position is funded at 0.5 FTE. The successful implementation of the program calls for increasing the DD position to full-time by July 2011 assuming sufficient, sustainable funds are raised. This job announcement describes major responsibilities for both half- and full-time positions.

Key Responsibilities: Half-time:

Salary / Pay Rate:Half-time Salary $20,000 to $25,000/year; includes health, vision, preventive dental coverage, retirement plan, generous vacation and holiday schedule, discounted annual transit pass and other transportation compensation and 4 hours a month paid time off for community volunteer involvement.

Sm. Containers w/Lids Wanted for Reuse

Create Plenty needs those little containers holding 12 fluid ounces or less — and is accepting roll-on and solid deodorant containers, too! All containers must have their original lid, whether it is a cap, pump or a spray nozzle. Glass or metal are preferred, plastic containers must be marked a #1, #2,#4 or #5. All containers will be accepted on a case by case basis.

Run for the River 5K and 1K Volunteer Opportunities

3 Miles, 2 Bridges, 1 River

With the iconic Willamette River as the backdrop, The Freshwater Trust is partnering with the Portland Triathlon to launch the Run for the River 5K and 1K Stream Stride. The fun run will begin in Waterfront Park, circling around the Willamette River through parks and over bridges and crossing a living finish line to end at the popular post-race festival.

FAMILY SERVICE-LEARNING PROJECTS

Team up with RFH Roots & Shoots for our last service project of the summer on Monday, 8/16, from 2-4pm at Evergreen Park in Hillsboro!

We’ll be doing park patrol and a barkdust project, caring for the environment and our community by beautifying the park and mulching around plants and trails. Tools and snacks provided. Remember to wear protective clothing and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. If everyone's not too tired by the time we're done, we can hang out and play at the playground and basketball court afterward.
