$3 Soup Lunch to Benefit Recovering Oregon Youth (ROY)!!!

Portland non-profit Youth Progress Association (YPA) is holding their 4th Monthly “Soup To Go” lunch sale to benefit the R.O.Y project, YPA’s vocational training program. The event will be held at the organization’s office lobby at 604 SE Water Street on Thursday, June 18th from 11am to 1pm.

The R.O.Y. project (Recovering Oregon Youth) is our vocational training program, which includes the soup project, that is designed to help lower-functioning youth gain work experience and practice social skills in a supportive environment and easing their transition into employment outside of YPA.

Summer Street Carnival at People's Co-op: June 24, 2-9pm

Come one, come all to the umpteenth annual Summer Solstice Street Carnival on June 24th, from 2-9pm! We'll close down the street, open up the beer garden, call in our farmers, and turn on the music. Tarot readers, hand writing analyzers, & fortune tellers will be there to tell you more than how well your summer crops will grow. We have an exciting line-up of jugglers and fire-dancers to send us into summer with the right push. There will be juggling lessons and other fun games from 2-4pm, a kids area from 2-5pm, and tasty foods and drinks for everyone to enjoy the whole day and evening. The music is mellow AND danceable, the farmers market always a treat, and haybales to relax on and enjoy the people watching. And if you're feeling up to it, costumes are completely encouraged!

Jobs & Internships

Executive Director for The Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center - Job Opening

The Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center (PEAC) serves as the domestic environmental law clinic for Lewis & Clark Law School and provides pro bono legal representation for environmental organizations in the region. PEAC maintains a collaborative, educational and synergistic relationship with Lewis & Clark Law School faculty, staff and students; in exchange, the Law School contributes to PEAC’s budget and provides office space, technology and some administrative support. However, the majority of PEAC’s budget is self-funded through grants, gifts and attorney fee awards. In order for PEAC to manage its growing docket and maintain financial stability, it is critical that PEAC engage in ongoing fundraising, strategic planning and sound organizational development.
