Announcing the 2010 Community Watershed Stewardship Program Grant and Information Sessions

The City of Portland Environmental Services has up to $10,000 per project available for community groups engaged in watershed enhancement in the City of Portland.

Discuss your project ideas with the CWSP staff and get guidance for putting together your grant application at one of the following sessions:

- Tuesday, Jan. 12th 6:30-8 pm, Midland Library, 805 SE 122nd Ave.

Holistic Health Brown Bag Seminars

Holistic Health in Practice: Body Symptoms, Fulfillment, and Creativity with Katje Wagner, MS A 3-part brown bag series dedicated to holistic health: an everyday way of being as we encounter the real challenges in our lives and the possibilities they contain. 

Messages in the Body Thursday, Jan 14, 12-1:30pm - The body is a powerful source of information and guidance. We typically identify with certain parts of ourselves and marginalize others, although all parts exist and live on through our body symptoms. By believing in the value of these symptoms and the information they contain, we have the potential to get in touch with more of who we are.

Mortgage Default Intake Orientation

The Community Housing Resource Center will be holding free Mortgage Default Intake Orientations on Tuesday, February 23rd, and Thursday, February 25th, from 5-6PM at the Center. This workshop is the first step in learning how to work with your lender and how the Center can assist you in getting help to resolve your mortgage issue. Earn valuable, real-world experience with a nonprofit organization who for ten years has been providing year-round, life-giving opportunities for local elders and more recently for at-risk children. The Marketing Intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with gathering information as well as layout and design for marketing materials: brochures, newsletters (paper and email), invitations, and fundraisers. There also are opportunities to assist with press coverage and community events.

Immigration Attorney for Victims of Human Trafficking (.5 FTE)

Outreach and Support to Special Immigrant Populations (OSSIP) is a comprehensive assistance program for survivors of human trafficking. OSSIP provides intensive case management and legal services, assisting survivors in obtaining the benefits to which they may be entitled under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA). The OSSIP legal team works closely with the OSSIP social service team to provide quality services to the clients in our care.

Trainings

WVDO Third Thursday Program: Jeri Alcock Presents: Planning for Success: Creating a Fund Development Plan”

This practical session will teach participants how to create a fundraising plan and measure success of a fund development program. Participants will work step-by-step through the process of initial assessment, goal setting, drafting the plan, reporting results and evaluating success. The session will cover how to measure success of specific fundraising activities as well as the overall development program and will provide guidelines for reasonable expectations for return on investment.
