2008's Mindful Gifts Bazaar -- Dec. 13th

On Saturday, December 13th, Bridgeport UCC will host the 7th Annual Mindful Gifts Bazaar – a unique holiday bazaar for non-profits.

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., nonprofits from all over the Portland area come together for this great fund and friend-raising event, "selling" pieces of their organization's projects to people who want to give meaningful and affordable gifts to their friends & families while supporting the work of Portland’s non-profits.

Multnomah County Director Job Description

Overview

The primary functions of the Multnomah County Director are to provide leadership and direction and engage the community in our mentoring programs based in Multnomah County. The Director will be responsible for the supervision of the on site staff, volunteers, and interns. This position will work collaboratively with the community relations staff, fund development staff, and program supervisors to ensure high quality program outcomes and adequate resources to achieve those outcomes. This is a high performance position requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.

Temporary Part-Time Receptionist Position

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest is seeking a temporary part-time receptionist. The hours for this position are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On January 5th this position will transition to a temporary full-time position for approximately 8 weeks. Rate of pay is $12.00 hour and no benefits.

Oregon Education Foundation Annual Gun Turn-In

The Ceasefire Oregon Education Foundation, in partnership with Lents Neighborhood Association, will host the Annual Gun Turn-In to provide a place where gun owners can dispose of unwanted firearms. For each WORKING firearm turned in, residents will receive a $75.00 gift certificate to Fred Meyer. With the advertising for this event, we raise awareness of the risks and responsibilities of gun ownership, including the importance of safe storage. Number of guns turned in at Ceasefire's annual turn-ins:

1994: 600

1995: 300

1996: 689

OPEN (Oregon Program Evaluators Network) workshop

Training:

As part of its continuing professional development and training series, OPEN (Oregon Program Evaluators Network), offers a two-day workshop on Nov 19-20th in ATLAS.ti, a powerful computer application for qualitative data analysis, led by leading ATLAS.ti trainer Dr. Nick Woolf.

Day 1 covers the basic concepts behind the program and its features; strategies for setting up your project and designing your data analysis; using ATLAS.ti appropriately for different approaches to qualitative research; and the theory and practice of coding.

-Possess strong attention to detail, computer and data entry skills, a respect for confidentiality, and a willingness to be part of JOIN’s community.

Family Volunteer Day at Hosford Middle School

Join Hosford school and community volunteers as we rally at Hosford and celebrate Family Volunteer Day! There are projects for every age group! The painting projects will involve youth and adults over age 16. There will be secondary projects for youth under age 16.

Hosford is a Title I school with a very diverse population - over 23 different languages spoken in the homes of Hosford students. With exceptional test scores and a robust student population of 530, Hosford hallways will shine!

Paint it Up! Bring school spirit to Hosford Middle School - help us replace the dirty white paint with the bright school colors: blue and gold. (Ages 16+)
