Part-time Office Associate/Bookkeeper/Grant AdministratorA part-time office associate is needed at the Institute for Culture and Ecology (IFCAE), a 10-year old science oriented nonprofit located in inner southeast Portland, Oregon.  IFCAE has a small staff, a Board of eight, and dozens of contractors and collaborators depending on the current suite of projects.

The Portland Water Bureau is seeking fisheries technicians to assist in the collection of field data in 2009. The work will start in March and continue through June. The Bureau anticipates hiring 2-4 people who will work between 20 and 40 hours per week (4 to 8 hours per day). Some work will be on Saturdays and Sundays. The technicians will report to work at the Bureau’s Sandy River Station at 10991 SE Lusted Rd. Sandy, OR, which is at the confluence of the Bull Run and Sandy Rivers, and then drive in a bureau vehicle to the work sites. The work will focus on monitoring juvenile salmonid smolt traps. One or more technicians may be retained until November to assist with a variety of field efforts including stream surveys and adult fish counts.

Salary / Pay Rate:$11.52-$18.00/hour depending on number of years of higher ed completed.

Position Description

Purpose: Assist first-time home buyers in the home buying process.

Supervisor: The HomeBuying Specialist reports directly to the Program Manager, Education and Counseling Services. The HomeBuying Specialist also works closely with Participating Lenders and Realtors, PHC lending department, other PHC staff and community partners to facilitate home buying transactions.

SUMMARY: The HomeBuying Specialist is responsible for preparation of first-time home buyers in the HomeOwner Basics Program, navigation of customers through the home buying process, and assisting home buyers in overcoming barriers to home purchase. This position works with both English and Spanish-language home buyers.

Volunteer Research Assistance needed for Center for Diversity and the Environment.

The Center for Diversity & the Environment helps diversify the environmental movement through the development of effective and sustainable diversity efforts. We are currently seeking a Volunteer Research Assistant to lead in the development of our database. This project involves the review and data input of 70 surveys and calls for an assistant who is able to process quickly and has advanced experience with Microsoft Office. The information collected will be used to further our organization's efforts in Diversifying the Environmental Movement.

Come Salvage at The Rebuilding Center this Thursday 12/18!!!

Founded by volunteers in 1998, The ReBuilding Center is the nation’s largest non-profit reuse center for salvaged construction and remodeling materials.

The Rebuilding Center of Our United Villages will be hosting an "after hours" volunteer group on December 18, 6:00-8:30. We will be working in the warehouse to organize inventory and make the place look lovely for holiday shoppers. We really need some extra hands, so please come and bring a friend...or five! Due to the current state of road conditions and forecast of additional snow/ice to come, the IRCO Holiday Toy Drive has been moved from Thursday 12/18 to a new date and time: Tuesday, December 23 at 2pm in IRCO's Community Building on 10301 NE Glisan.
