Karen Gaffney Foundation Week Long Swim Clinic @ PCC Sylvania

Calling All Swimmers!!! June 21-25 8-12 yr olds 12:45-2:00 13+ yr olds 2:00-3:15 This camp is designed for those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to work on all swim techniques while also having a lot of FUN! Each swimmer will be sent home with a unique swim workout to continually work on all summer.

Children’s Relief Nursery, a child abuse prevention program, is looking for a high-energy and driven Volunteer, Resource, and Event Coordinator. This integral member of the development team reports to the Development Director. Primary responsibilities include coordinating events (including our signature event, the annual Portland’s Original Iron Chef auction gala), volunteer recruitment (for program and event needs) as well as assisting with other fundraising activities, such as diaper drives and holiday gift-in-kind drives. Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record in successful event/auction planning, successful volunteer recruitment and management as well as the ability to multi-task many projects and events at once while maintaining calm while under pressure.

JESUIT VOLUNTEER CORPS (JVC) NORTHWEST, Portland, OR, is hiring a full-time AmeriCorps Coordinator to begin as early as late June, 2010. The AmeriCorps Coordinator will have responsibility for 135 members, living in 21 communities in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The AmeriCorps Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the JVC Northwest AmeriCorps program including development of all materials, training of members and service sites, enrollment, budgeting, management of members’ insurance policies, on-going paperwork, evaluations, reports, and other duties. The position will be assisted by a part-time administrative assistant in the beginning stages.

We are seeking an experienced Youth and Family Specialist to provide high-quality, coordinated, strengths-based support services to children, youth and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Responsibilities include assessing the HIV-related impacts, determining and providing interventions best suited to meet the HIV-related needs, and assisting with crisis management and referrals as needed.

David Beer of Wingnut Confections and Missy Rohs of The Arctos School are teaming up for one of our best classes ever:

Making Medicinal & Delicious Meads Saturday, June 12th, 3pm-6pm

Mead – the decadent alcoholic beverage made with honey and yeast – has been consumed for thousands of years for both healing and pleasure. This hands-on class will walk you step-by-step through the mead-making process (with plenty of outstanding samples and scrumptious snacks along the way!). We’ll also learn the medicinal qualities of herbs that taste wonderful in meads. At the end of the class, you'll have the skills to make your own organic, locally-grown, herbally-infused mead at home, too!

Help Out at the Oaks Park Annual Picnic with the MS Society... and get enjoy the park for free!

Volunteer, Get Great Food and Free Rides at Oaks Park!!

Come help set up picnic tables and decorate for the party before guests arrive at 11:30. Once guests arrive, we need help manning buffet stations, serving food and assistance in clearing up. Arrive at 11 and once you're finished with your shift, you can be on the rides or playing games until close at the Park (7pm) on us!

Volunteers may bring children ages 12 and up to join the fun. Spend a day of fun in the sun eating, playing and helping us create a great day for our friends with Multiple Sclerosis!
