Nonprofit News

Northeast Portland Tool Library Needs a New Home

The Northeast Portland Tool Library (NEPTL) is only a few months old, and we are already bursting at the seams of our small shed. (Big thanks for all the tool donations!) We are seeking a donated space that is roughly 750-1000sq.f. and is located in the Northeast. We can offer a tax deduction through our nonprofit status and a warm and fuzzy feeling in the heart and soul. Please contact me with any questions or leads/ideas of spaces. Peace

Katie Steinhauer NEPTL Board Member 425-299-5104 [email protected]

Saturday - Community Building Workshop

Introduction to Asset Based Community Development (ABCD)

Saturday, October 18, 9am-12pm (arrive at 8:45am) at Parklane Church, 16001 SE Main, Portland, OR

Come learn about a powerful and refreshing approach to building community called Asset Based Community Development (ABCD).

ABCD presents an opportunity to have more fun and develop more meaningful relationships in the process of community involvement. ABCD invites us to break from traditional deficit-based approaches to what is wrong with our communities, and start examining what is right with our communities.

By finding and connecting the strengths and assets of a community, its people, institutions and associations, we are better equipped to meet challenges.
